Catch up: Nov/Dec 2011

Fall  must be our favorite time out here in Tennessee. The temperatures during the day are comfortable, while they drop pretty low during the night and the humidity is almost non existent.
We love taking Louie on long walks to explore the area or go to the dog park. He enjoys it as much as we do, as he has a hard time with the summer heat just like us.

For Thanksgiving this year, we got invited over to our friends Cody and Amanda. We were in charge of the ham and Dan did a fantastic job of making it taste delicious. Cody's parents, his sister Jenna, the missionaries and some of Cody's friends came over for the feast and we all had a great time together. Cody made a Turducken, which is a chicken stuffed in a duck, which is stuffed in a turkey. OMG, it was sooo good.

On December 6th we celebrated one of the German traditions and had Nikolaus come during the night and put candy and oranges into our shoes. Its more of a tradition for kids, but we love any occasion to get some good German candy, lol.

When we still lived in Utah we loved going to see the Christmas lights on temple square during Christmas season. This year we drove up to Nashville and made a day out of it.

We ate some good food at the Hard Rock Cafe first, did some sightseeing and then headed over to the Gaylord Opryland hotel next.
The inside of the hotel was decorated with thousands of lights and put us into the Christmas mood. We didn't get too many good pictures from the inside, but this tree was one of our favorites, it was ginormous and so beautiful.

In front of the hotel they set up this giant nativity, surrounded by all these beautiful lit trees. Just like on temple square you could hear the story about the birth of Jesus while looking at the nativity.

It was a great little trip to put us in the right mood for the Christmas season and we are so grateful for the knowledge of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Redeemer.

Those trees are huge. Is that a tree made from Poinsettsas?
