In the beginning of July we had our first visitors since we moved to Tennessee. Dan's mom and sister and one of our cute adorable nieces were able to fly out and spent a couple of days with us.
After picking them up from the airport we went on a short stroll through downtown Nashville and enjoyed the buzz of the city before driving to our home. Dan had to work that day but was glad to come home to a house full of family.
The next day we made the drive back to Nashville and visited the Parthenon. The Parthenon and the 42- foot statue of Athena are full-scale replicas of the ones from ancient Greece. The statue was so beautiful and majestic and we felt so little compared to the size of the statue and the temple.
For lunch we made our way to Opryland, a hotel with shopping and dining underneath a glass atrium with nine acres of beautiful indoor gardens, cascading waterfalls and an indoor river. A must see when coming to Nashville.
The next day we showed our visitors that Clarksville is really not that big of a city and that you can drive through downtown Clarksville in like 5 minutes, lol. We did enjoy a nice walk along the Cumberland river though and Dan was put on uncle duty. ;)
We also drove up to Ft. Campbell to show them where Dan is stationed and we had a lot of fun playing around the aircraft and different machinery as you can see. In the evening we walked to this little vineyard across from our neighborhood and sat on the lawn eating dinner while listening to live Jazz music.
It was so nice to have family in town and even though it was only for a short time, we enjoyed it so very much!
