Memorial Day weekend Part 1

First of all, we just have to say that I-80 through Wyoming was built and maintained by the devil. At least he is in control of the weather through that area. Over Memorial Day Weekend we drove back to Utah to visit family and friends, and we had to put up with tornadoes, blizzards, and a blacked-out Laramie on the way. It was scary, but we made it alright.
On Friday we hung out with our BFFs the Gwilliams. We met at Wheeler Farm and had a great time visiting with them, playing with their boys, and also making friends with the animals.
Dan was never very good at obeying the rules. . . Lets just hope that Cade (in the background) doesn't remember this moment too well in the future.
It was so great to see the Gwilliam family again. Conner and Cade are as cute as ever, and still remembered us. Its wonderful to have friendships that are strong enough to stand the test of time and distance. Marissa and Aaron are as cool and nice as they come, and we are now super-excited to have them come and visit us!
While we were in Utah we also got to spend some time with the Fagerlunds, who are the proud parents of little Max, who is completely adorable. Pierre and Lyndsay have always been great friends to us, ever since we knew them at the U in the stone age.
We were also able to sneak in a nice visit with Hansjoerg and Kristina Schwertz, our buddies from Germany who used to live on our floor. Or, better said, we used to live on their floor. Lilly is growing so fast, and it is adorable to hear her speak in both German and English.
These happy faces are Jake and Terrisa Warnick, who have been our friends since just about the dawn of time. Dan went to Jr. High with Jake, and Terrisa and Dana have been close friends since dirt was new. We were able to spend a lot of time with them, reconnecting, and resurrecting our tradition of game-night that lasts until 3:00 am.

It was so nice to be able to come back to the Salt Lake Valley and have so many wonderful friends to spend time with. We always feel very loved when we realize how many great friendships we have been able to make over the years.

We just wish that we could have also seen some of our good friends who have moved out of the valley. We love you guys!
