Catch up: My Mom's 70th Birthday

The main reason we went to Germany in April was to be able to celebrate my mom's big birthday. It was so nice to see all my siblings in one place and be able to spend well-needed time together.

We all met up in front of a restaurant and waited for my mom's arrival. It was so good to see her smiling and being happy that her family was all together, after dealing with such a hard couple of weeks leading up to her birthday. I don't want to go into too much detail, but it involved a long hospital stay and the partial loss of sight in one of her eyes. (you can see in the pics that she is wearing special glasses)

Every time I visit my family I make tons of pictures to take home and "live off of them" for the time that I am away from my loved ones.

We had plenty of food and had so much fun playing silly games, doing skits and just enjoying each other's company. As a present we gave her a ride in a hot air balloon which she always wanted to do. (Unfortunately she wasn't able to enjoy this gift yet, due to yet some more health issues)

All I can say is we Germans know how to party. ;) My mom had such a good time and was touched by all the love and attention.

It wouldn't be a party without Dan and my sister Ramona showing off their dance moves. I love how Dan fits right into my family.

We also took the chance to take a picture of all siblings together, since we are rarely all together in one place. I think last time that happened was like 7 years ago.

I was so happy and felt so blessed that we both could be there to celebrate my mom's 70th birthday. Hopefully we all have many more birthdays to celebrate together!
