After getting up at like 4am in the morning, we tried to catch a bus that would take us to an early train that would take us to the airport. Unfortunately, the bus was a few minutes earlier and we were soooo close but didn't make it. After a lot of discussion Dan decided to be on the safe side and catch a cab to the airport. It made me physically sick how much we had to pay for that cab ride...
We made it to the airport and realized we could've waited for the next bus and train and still would have been fine...which made me even more sick to the stomach and I got upset with Dan. But I realized I was being totally unfair, since he just made the best judgment at that moment and oh boy, I would've been way more upset if we didn't make it on that plane. ;)

I already need to apologize for not taking a lot of pictures while we were in Germany. I just get into family mode and forget to take pictures, cause it's not like I am on a sightseeing trip or something. One of our first evenings we spent with my best friend Kristin and her husband and what else would we do then go out to eat...that's just our thing. They took us to this amazing Italian restaurant and we had a great time together, as always.

Dan could only stay in Germany for one week, and I wanted him to make the best out of that week. So one day he went with Silvio to a "climbing park", where you can play all day using ropes, zip-lines and all kinds of other things to climb on. They had such a good time there! Dan came back exhausted and dirty, but with a huge grin on his face.

In the evenings we usually went over to my friends house and ate dinner with them and after the kids went to bed, we would talk and hang out and savor every minute we had together. Even though we haven't seen their kids in over 3 years, they warmed right up to us. Even this little guy (who never met us before) made friends with Dan right away.

Every time we go back to my hometown, we make sure to go downtown to see all the changes that have happened since the last time we visited. Not to brag or anything, but Leipzig is a beautiful city and we love to stroll through downtown. We noticed a lot of street performers and these guys here were by far the best.

These are just a few pictures we took while we rediscovered Leipzig's downtown. We noticed lots of renovation and newer modern construction.

Another day we spent with my brother and his family. We spent a couple of hours at an indoor water park, then went shopping and for ice-cream afterwards. It was a good time as always.
Next up.....my mom's 70th birthday! Stay tuned!
