Catch up: From Edinburgh back to London

Today we woke up and Edinburgh was cloudy and it rained a little. But we didn't mind at all. We made the little hike up to Edinburgh castle and took the time to explore this beautiful really well preserved castle. To be honest after seeing the Tower of London this castle was a little underwhelming yet still very beautiful and filled with great history stories.
All around the castle you found these canons which made for a good defense back in the day.
As you can see, we were still very much enjoying ourselves despite the rain and the cold. It just felt right.
Throughout the castle they have scenes displayed from Scotland's history. They also had the Scottish crown jewels on display, but again not as impressive as the ones in London. =)
Dan felt like a kid in a candy store seeing all the old swords, guns and different sorts of weapons. Me not so much...lol.
Christian and Dan couldn't resist posing for this beautiful picture. Don't they look so tough?
After touring the castle we had about an hour left before we had to board our train back to London. So Dan and I took the time to stroll around Edinburgh some more.
We found this one store were they had a couple of kilt machines displayed and it was cool to see how they were making those kilts.
We were really hoping to find a kilt from Dan's ancestrial clan, and we thought we had when we stumbled upon a store with the clan's name, but no. They sold tartans from everywhere but from the MacNichol clan. Disappointing!
We did end up finding a gorgeous scarf from his clan and a key chain. Dan was happy, but unfortunately we ran out of time to look for some kind of souvenir for me. =(
Guess we have to come back and try again...
Our train ride back to London was relaxing and again we enjoyed the beautiful countryside of Scotland and England.
We got back to London pretty late, so we just crashed at the Inn and only went out to get something for dinner, which was quite the adventure. (Ask me what I did with the food I bought.)
