Goodbye...

We just had one of our saddest days since coming to Denver. We had to say goodbye to two of our beloved little animal children. We can't take them with us when we move overseas, so we made sure to find them good new homes with new families that will love them (almost) as much as we do.
Kaiser went to live with a family where a retired grandpa and a disabled child who really love birds will be able to spend more time with him than we ever could. We just hope he doesn't forget the Utes Fight Song.

And Hoppel went to live with a 16 year old girl who has always wanted a pet of her own, but can't get a dog or cat. She needed something quiet and self-contained, and that describes Hoppel to a T.

It is already less lively and a little more lonely in the house. Louie keeps looking around, trying to find his brothers. Dan keeps whistling, expecting Kaiser to answer him, and Dana keeps cuddling Louie, to make up for the bunny and bird she can no longer cuddle.

We can only hope that they will be happy in their new homes, and that their little bird and bunny brains remember how much we love them.

:( Sorry to hear that you had to say goodbye to your little ones. It's good to know that they will be in happy homes though!

So sad! But I did laugh when I read "little bird and bunny brains."
