Live the Legend...

Last weekend Dan and I decided to just relax and have fun for the whole weekend. Besides sleeping in and eating a lot of good food, watching movies and playing games, we made a trip to Larkspur and had a great time at the Renaissance festival.
As you can see in the picture above, we would have made a good-looking couple as king and queen.
Every year they open their doors for 8 weekends during the summer and take you on a magical tour through time and legend. Every weekend has a different theme. People dress and talk quite differently - and there are many unique things to see and do. There are performances, demonstrations, jousting, games, unusual gift stores, rides, etc. Way too much to do it all in one day!
Dan and I really enjoyed the Joust. Even though our knight was the evil one and had to die at the end, we had a super time cheering for him.
He had lots of female fans and was just the better entertainer, but he had to die......
Dan was a good shot at the Archery.
It was so much fun to try out different things and see so many people dressed up and pretending they were living back in the times of King Henry.
As you can see I very much enjoyed the music of this Pipe band.
There was no walking by at this place. Dan had to prove his strength with the hammer, trying to ring the bell.
He made it past "Lady in Waiting" up to "Court Jester" !!!
I wasn't too bad with the cross bow and hit my arrow right in the middle, which is a good thing if that's where the target was.

We can only recommend this festival, it is a great way of spending time together as a family. We had so much fun and will probably go visit again next year.

Oh, that sounds like so much fun! I've never been to one, but I've always wanted to. You guys should come down to Cedar City in August and go to the Shakespearean Festival with us!!
